Semester's Almost Through!

Thanksgiving Break is over, it went by so fast. It felt like a normal weekend rather than almost a week. But that is okay, I got to spend a lot of time with my mom and my sister. My dad and my brother went hunting so I didn't get to see very much of them. It's hard to believe that we only have 3 weeks left of classes. Well technically it's 2 weeks of  classes and 1 week of finals, but still, only 3 weeks left in the semester. I cannot wait for Christmas Break. I know we just came back from break, but I think that I'm ready for another one. And Christmas too! Only 4 weeks away! I am so excited for Christmas because I was unable to see my dad's side of the family for Thanksgiving and it has been so long since we've all gotten together, and I miss seeing them. My Thanksgiving was ok, I spent it with my mom's side of the family for the first time. Before this year her parents have always been in Florida for this part of the year, so that was a different experience. I got to meet my cousin Brittany's husband, Luke, for the first time over break because we were unable to attend their wedding due to the fact that one of my cousins on my dad's side of the family was getting married the same day, and we were all in the wedding. (One of the consequences of having such a large family!) He was a very nice young man and they are so cute together so I was very happy.

THANKSGIVING BREAK!

I nice long needed break! That is what I so desperately need right now. I am so excited to be going home for almost a whole week. I have missed my family very much and can't wait to see them. This year's Thanksgiving is going to be much different for me because my grandma on my father's side will be in St. Louis and we have always had Thanksgiving at her house. This year this obviously this will not be happening. However, my grandparents on my mother's side are going to be in town for Thanksgiving this year. This will be the first time that they will be in Indiana for the holidays. Usually thay are in Florida this time of year, but this past summer they decided to move back up here. It will be interesting to see how the holidays play out this year.
I wish that I could go home for Thanksgiving Break this Friday rather than Tuesday, but I still have classes on Monday and Tuesday. I am also really excited to see the new Harry Potter movie! I hope they don't mess it up and that it's as good as the book!

44th Annual CMA Awards

Wednesday's CMA's were hosted again by none other than Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. I love it when these two host, they are so funny together. It was a great night for everyone, especially the birthday girl, Miss Miranda Lambert who had never won a CMA before, but ended up taking home 4 CMA's including: Female Vocalist, Album of the Year, Video of the Year, and Song of the Year. She also performed her new hit single, "That's the Way the World Goes Round," as well a tribute to Loretta Lynn, "Coal Miner's Daughter," along side Sheryl Crow and Loretta Lynn herself. Her fiance, Blake Shelton, did great for himself as well, taking home Male Vocalist and Musical Event of the Year. The couple did so well that Brad actually said that "After thg night they're having, I think we can expect a baby in about 9 months."
However, host Brad Paisley had the biggest night of all, winning the top honor, Entertainer of the Year! After winning the award he said that "If you see a turtle up on a fence post, he didn't get up there by himself." Truer words could not have been spoken, in this world today you can't hardly achieve anything without the help of those who care about you.

Other big winners included: Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band, and Sugarland.

Writing My Research Argument Rough Draft

When I first sat down to write this paper, it just wasn't coming to me. All I managed to write was the introduction, after that my mind was drawing a blank. After a few hours of doing something else I was finally able to come back to it and actually write the paper. I guess I just needed to be in the right mood and setting and I wasn't when I first sat down. However, the second time everything seemed to come out just fine.
I wrote the roght draft for my research argument on Fri. and Sat. I had a little bit of difficulty combining the research and my argument. I mean it's pretty obvious that I feel that college textbooks should be cheaper, the problem is that hardly anyone disagrees with me. So I am not sure how well my point came across in my paper, I felt that most of what I had to say was just the research.
Maybe it's all in my head, but I don't feel very confident about this paper,so I am really looking forward to my conference on Wednesday so that I can get some feedback that will hopefully help me to fix my paper.
