InQsit Testing Lab

I had my first InQsit test today. Let me just say that it was a major pain in my ass. First, signing up for a lab is really difficult if you have no idea what you are doing. This was me. The professor gave us absolutely no information on what to do, she just sent an e-mail saying the test was uploaded and that we had until Friday to take it. So I logged onto InQuist and somehow ended up on another page that would not allow me access. I was getting extremely frustrated until my friend helped me to figure out what I was doing wrong. It turns out that rather than signing up for the lab, I was actually trying to take the exam from my laptop. But once I got everything straigtened out and was looking through the available times, I realized that the only one I could do was at 9:15 the next morning. I was a little bit worried becasue I have a class from 8-8:50. I was really freaking out because I had a test in that class as well so we ran over a little bit. I ended up having to run from West Quad all the way to Robert Bell. Luckily I made it to my appointment 5 minutes early. The teacher had told us that the test would take about an hour, so I scheduled my appointment for that long. The test turned out to be about the easiest I had ever taken before. It only took me 5 minutes to complete it. All of that worrying for nothing. But I was feeling pretty good when I left the lab, which I don't usually after a test. So that was good.

Season Premiere Week

Awww, the week of season premieres has finally arrived. So much TV to watch so little time. Monday I've got Chuck as well as Mike and Molly. Neither of which caused any dissappointment. I was a little bit worried about how this season of Chuck would go considering how they ended things last season, but all turned out perfect. Tuesday means the best show on TV, NCIS, boy what a nail biter the season finale was. But the premiere did not dissappoint either. Gibbss, Jackson, and Franks are so BA. The ending was absolutely amazing! Wednesday night was Criminal Minds. Let me just say I had forgotten how utterly creepy TIm Curry was in that role. This one was another nail biter. Ending with Derek and a woman tied up bleeding on the floor with the team not knowing where they are, while Tim Curry's character kidnaps the woman's niece. And not to mention that her father is lying dead on the floor after being shot by Tim Curry. Finally tonight, Thurday. Bones and The Big Bang Theory. Bones I was extememly worried about considering that at the end of last season everyone wen their seperate ways. Brennan and Daisy went to the Maluku Isands, Booth to Afghanistan, Angela and Hodgins to France, Sweets to play the piano at the mall, and all of Brennan's grad students have left the field of anthropology. Weird I know. But it wall turned out just fine, when they all come back 7 months later to help save Cam's job. And last but certainly not least, The Big Bang Theory, which I have not yet had the chance to watch. However, I can see no way that it could dissappoint me either because they are all just so funny. And Sheldon now has a girlfriend, there is no way that this will not be hilarious!

Hope everyone else had a great week, and if I spoiled something about any of the above shows I'm truly sorry!

Lazy Weekend

Don't you just love having nothing to do over the weekend and being able to lounge around all weekend long! I know I do. That was the type of weekend that I had. Friday night I went to see Toy Story 3 in Pruis Hall with my friend Matt. It was just as good as I remembered. Made me laugh throughout the whole movie, until the ending and once again it made me cry. Probably because this is kind of the movie of our lives. We were little kids when Andy was a little kid going on adventures with his toys, and now that Andy is going to college, so are we.

Saturday morning I got to sleep in, it was awesome! Nearly everyone on campus either went home for the weekend or up to Purdue. I went to Walmart at 10am and sitting on the bench waiting for the bus I literally saw 2 people. There was absolutely no one here. After I got back from Walmart I lounged around my room the rest of the day, watching movies and doing some homework.

Sunday was another lazy day, church, then laundry, and a nice nap. Unfortunately the weekend was too short, and Monday came way too fast.

Birthday Card

Today after lunch, I went to the bookstore to do a little bit of shopping. A little bit actually turned into a ton of shopping, but that's a different story. Anyways, I was just browsing through the cards, when one with a russian blue kitty on the front caught my eye. (my kitty at home is a russian blue) I opened the card to discover that it was a birthday card, one that would actually be perfect for my mother. Even though her birthday isn't until February, I could not help myself. I bought the card. I mean what are the odds that I will find a card that perfect for her closer to her birthday. So now my mission is to not lose it between now and February!

Fall Festival

I went home this past weekend for an event known as the Fall Festival. I have gone to it for as long as I can remember. It is so much fun. This year the theme was Heroes since is took place on September 11. Like most parades, it begins with the procession of police cars and firetrucks. Normally when they come through they have their lights flashing and horns blaring, but not this time. They had their lights on, but they drove through in a veil of silence. If you weren't paying attention, you would not have known that the parade had even started.

The parade itself was awesome, I got to see alot of my old friends. Like most parades, they were throughing candy. Since I am older now I didn't get nearly as much candy as I used to, but I still got way more than I expected to get. Especially from the little kids that recognized me from church. I think my favorite part of the parade was actually the last group that went through. The Choralaires, the all-girls choir at Zionsville High School. I had several friends in the group, but also they were the most enthusiastic of everyone. Plus, they gave out lots of candy.

The parade took place on Saturday morning, and it did rain. But luckily there was not a down pour. It mostly misted throughout the whole morning. Luckity we were sitting underneath a tree, so we didn't get very wet, but it was rather cold. Not that either of these things slowed us down.

Once the parade was over, the hordes of people made their way down to the park where the festival itself was being held. I was a little bit disappointed in the booths that they had this year. In years past, there was tent after tent of arts and crafts, antique furniture, jewlery, designer bags, amd more. This year there was a very limited selection of all these things. Even the advertising tent was lacking. Either way, I still had a lot of fun, hanging out with my mom and my brother and sister.

Fire Drill

Fire Drills in the dorms suck majorly. Especially when they occur after 9 o'clock! You would think that passing by cars would pay more attention when there is a swarm of hundreds of people crossing the street in the dark. But no, they go speeding by trying to take us all out. The things that people do just amaze me.

Labor Day Weekend

I was sooo excited to go home for labor day! I was so happy to see my family and my kitty. I can't believe I'm about to say this but I actually missed my brother, never thought that would happen. It was definitely the best weekend I've had in a while. Mom came up for lunch and then we headed home. Luckily I beat my brother and sister home from school, so I got to surprise them.

I did find it rather funny that I had been gone from home for two and a half weeks and the first thing my dad has me do when I get back is mow the lawn. (Gee Dad, I missed you too!) Actually I really did miss my dad, and according to Mom, he really missed me too. After the lawn was mowed, we even played corn hole. I hadn't had an opportunity to play all summer, so that was awesome.

Sunday was by far the best day though, we went to my grandparents lakehouse! It was so great to get to see all of my cousins, aunts, uncles, and my grandparents. There it was actually rather chilly in the shade. We went on a boat ride and had to wear sweatshirts, it was ridiculous.

Monday I went to the movies with my little sister and all of her little friends (that was crazy!). We saw Vampire's Suck, it was very funny. The movie is supposed to be a spoof of Twilight, and they did a great job. Don't get me wrong, it was totally stupid, but still very funny. After the movie, we headed straight up here and my fun weekend with my family away from school was over. However, I'm going home again this weekend for the Fall Festival!

CMA Music Festival

Ever since I arrived at school, the TV connection has steadily been getting worse. It was rather fuzzy when I first moved in but it was still watchable. However it ended up so bad that there were days it was so fuzzy that you could not tell what was on the TV screen. We would also continually lose the signal completely. It was driving me absolutely crazy not being able to watch tht TV whenever I wanted.

I guess I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to the TV. Despite the fact that we don't have cable at my house, I still was constantly watching the TV. Not matter what I was doing, whether it was homework, cleaning the kitchen, or simply reading a book, I had the TV on. I was beginning to go a bit stir crazy here without it, luckily I brought enough movies to get through this rough patch.

I had the best surprise today after my Water Aerobics class. I decided to check the TV again and what do you know? It was the best reception we have had since I've been here. The other day I asked my RA about what was going on with the cable, checking to make sure that I wasn't the only one who was having problems with it. Luckily I wasn't. She told me that the construction workers accidently hit the cable line, and that there was problems not only in our building but also in two others. She informed me that they were "working on it," but I was still pretty skeptical. Then today when it did get fixed I was very excited!

Just in time for the CMA Music Festival tonight!!!! :)
